If you are into mindmapping, MindMeister http://www.mindmeister.com is a fantastic tool. Its browserbased but does not lack any important functionality.
It does, however, leverage the power of cloudcomputing: You can use it online (best with firefox) or offline with google gears and you not only can share your maps with friends or collegues - you can work simultanously on one map. This enables you to use a map during concalls or if you are collaboratively taking notes at conferences or events.
Try it out - the basic version is free and you can im- and export MindManager maps.
